boho babe

boho babe

It's summertime- school is out and the weather is hot.
Now that I don't have a dress code to follow, I'm tossing my heavier clothing and opting for lightweight maxi's and loose tanks with hole-y boyfriend jeans (and lots and lots of jewelry).
My old '66 mustang has no AC and is hot as heck this time of year, so I have to work hard to stay cool when I'm out driving (especially to work...I don't want to come in sweaty). Which brings me to one of my favorite styles: bohemian. Lightweight maxi's, wedges, floppy sun hats, oversized sunglasses, and jewelry galore. My favorite part of changing seasons is getting to change up my wardrobe, and this summer I'm definitely pulling inspiration from music festivals and model street-styles.
Where's your summer wardrobe inspiration coming from?

// everything looks dead

All of the pretty fall leaves have fallen and subsequently been raked, and our week of 80 degree weather is going to abruptly end tomorrow when we hit a high/low of 45/28.
I. Can't. Wait. Bring on the December weather, Texas!

my christmas wishlist

christmas list

christmas list by insusiesshoes

The holidays are speedily approaching and my mom has been nagging 24/7 about getting my Christmas list to her! But I mean, I can't complain...she's just being a good mom :')

I've been dying to have a Nespresso machine for quite some time now, because as many of you who read my tumblr frequently know...I am a diehard coffee fan. This way I can make latte's and fun drinks at home instead of spending really excessive amounts of money at Starbucks every week (it's gotten a little embarrassing how often I drag my coffee-deprived little body through the doors of SB).

I've also been asking for an Instax for a few years, and I think this is the year I'll finally unwrap that baby! My family is a HUGE polaroid family, but I love the size of the mini-instax, and I've been begging for it. My mom's so sick of listening to me that I think she's just going to get it ;)

Coffee cup...what can I say?

THOSE WEDGES. They are only $20. TWENTY. They're perfect.

Daisy is my faaaavorite perfume and I'm dying to finally own it. I need 2 smell pwetty again!

I am always looking for new lip-wear to try and I've heard nothing but good things about Bobbi Brown products, and this color is stunnnnnning, so hopefully I'll find that little gem waiting for me in my stocking!!

I AM IN LOVE WITH HEART SUNGLASSES. They're so cute. I'm fairly certain I look like a 5-year old in them, but a cute 5-year old....right?
I just bought a pink pair and I want more colors. White appears to be what's next. Fingers crossed.

What's on your Christmas list?? :) xx

pretty in prints

Snapped this shot of two of my current favorite shoes! Wedges and flats- the perfect duo for every day.
For the most part, I am very minimal when it comes to clothes. Shoes, however, are where I tend to branch out a bit more.
These cheetah print flats (Target) go with EVERYTHING. They are the best go-to shoes, comfy, and I suggest everyone grab a pair. They're also super cheap, too, so really there's no excuse not to!
The floral wedges (also Target) are a bit more...out there...than I usually wear, but I love them all the same. I receive compliment after compliment on them, and they make my legs look soooo long because of the huge platform and wedge. They're the perfect accessory to simple dresses for a night out. I wore them to a friend's birthday dinner this weekend with a simple white lace dress and they were perfect for balancing out the simplicity of the dress.
The cheetah print ballet flats work all year round, but the wedges do look a little more spring/summer. To help make them winter-ready you could always just throw on a pair of knit socks and pile them under tights!

just little things

Everything in this photo is under $10! I'm such a thrifty, frugal girl. Phone case- amazon, wedges- Target, fur vest- thrifted, DIY lace trim shorts- thrifted (then I added the trim!), sunglasses- Target, ring- thrifted.
detailzzzzzz
DIY lace trim shorts! I'm not entirely finished with them (have to sew up the edges- they look messy). Just use fabric glue and then sew them on!
DIY lace trim part 2- back side.
Was feeling healthy yesterday, as you can see (a rare occurance for me). I already ate all the blueberries...oops.
Salad w/ avocado! Yum yum yum.
Spent the morning out thrifting with my sister and found so many great things (those lavender shorts being one of them) and the rest you'll probably see soon! I'm such a sucker for buying sweaters in the summer because I miss autumn/winter so much....I bought like 5 and I almost regret it but not really because it's better to get them now when they're cheaper!
I also DIY'd some shorts when I got home because I had like 6 cups of coffee and was starting to go insane from a caffeine overdose and needed something to do.
I still need to touch them up a bit, but overall I'm happy with the outcome!
I'm also a huge salad nut (favorite food!) and have been trying to step outside of my caesar-salad-only routine and add new things, so yesterday I tried avocado! Tasted even better than I expected :')
We're also having an unexpected thunderstorm here right now (which is a huge blessing in Texas) so today has been a good day!

skippin' skool

some new shoezies i picked up the other day. they're suuuper comfy surprisingly

stayed home from school today and tried on this new lil shirt i got the other day. it was kind of an impulse buy and i didn't try it on beforehand, but i really like it! the material is a little cheap (as almost all f21 pieces are) but i really it so i went for it anyways
