And thus, the black & white saga continues...

One day soon I'll make a post where I'm wearing color. I promise.
But today is not that day and there's nothing I can do about it at this point.

Today was all about cheap basics with statement accessories.

  1. Top- Forever21 ($8)
  2. Pleather shorts- Forever21 ($6- resale)
  3. Booties- Target ($12- resale)
  4. Necklace- Sam Moon ($5)
  5. Watch- Target ($20)
  6. Triple Crystal Cuff- Jazzy Jems (the boutique I work at)
  7. Rayban aviators in black & gold- ($30- resale)
  8. Loren Hope "Sarra Cuff"- From my new RocksBox set! I get designer jewelry every month and you can get a month free with my code insusiesshoexoxo
  9. The clutch was gifted and has no brand,  sorry!

Almost all the essentials of this outfit were basics and under $20, and I just added some fun accessories to make it pop! I wore it to work and after I got off I switched my bucket bag for this cute clutch and made it the perfect outfit for dinner with friends!

cabin fever

As we do every couple of years, last Saturday my family set off on another trip to Wisconsin. Every time someone hears that's where I am going, I am asked one question: "But what do you actually do in Wisconsin?"
Well, in the past week I have: kissed a couple of deer, seen a circus, ridden an elephant, been to a small-town county fair, seen a demolition derby, sipped on some tasty coffee at local coffee shops, explored the forest outside our cabin and plenty more. There is never a dull moment here.
The best vacations are not ones spent on a high-end cruise or doing nothing but lounging on the beach (although those are nice), it's the ones that you get to explore with the ones you love. And that is exactly what we do in Wisconsin.

striped saturday

After having to deal with losing an hour of sleep from daylight savings + coming back to school after spring break, I am exhausted. This has felt like the longest week ever.  We finished our second to last issue of the school newspaper, prom is getting stressful, I'm rushing to finish scholarship applications, and it just feels like everything is all happening at once! I thought second semester of senior year was supposed to be easy....whoever said that is a liar.
I'm really and truly sorry for slacking a bit on blogging. I'm trying to pick up the pace a bit :')

For everyone who's just starting Spring Break, enjoy! And for those of you still trying to recover from SB like me, get some rest this weekend!!

t g i f

There has never been a more appropriate time to use the saying: TGIF.
This school week, although only 4 days, has been the most tiring week ever. 2 days this week I was at school from about 7:30am to 7:30pm, and last night I was there from 7:30am until nearly 11pm.
My body is e x h a u s t e d.
My outfit today was pretty casual (yeah, I woke up super late and couldn't be bothered)...off the shoulder sweater (with an amazing gold detail that I wish had picked up more!) and maroon skinny jeans (also wish the color had picked up more...darn this dark, cloudy weather) with brown ankle boots.
I really need to pause and talk about these pants for a moment. Not only are they the most beautiful color, they are easily the comfiest pants I have ever owned. In all my 18 years. Seriously.
They're lined with a super-soft flannel material on the inside, which makes them so warm and soft + they're already jegging material to begin with!
I almost never wear jeans anymore because I find them so uncomfortable to sit in all day at school, but these are so great!
This tote also really strikes my fancy because it's so simple, but still cute (and extremely efficient).

Hope everyone's week was less tiring than mine!

marc jacobs, i love you

I often find myself asking the question: am I buying this because I need it, or because it's cheap?
More than half of the time, I generally respond with the wrong answer. Because it's cheap.
But in the case of Marc Jacobs, buying because it's cheap is definitely the RIGHT answer.
I was trying to pass some time in Target earlier until I had to go pick up my neighbor from soccer practice, so I was aimlessly wandering the aisles until I saw a giant 70% off sign hanging from the ceiling over the Junior's section. I headed over, and it was the Neiman Marcus for Target section that was 70% off. Um, WHAT?!
This perfect gold leather pouch was regularly $70, and on sale for $50 off. Hi Marc Jacobs for $20, how are you doing? Better now that you're in my possesison? That's what I thought.

SO HAPPY with this awesome find. Outfit post with it to come later!

// everything looks dead

All of the pretty fall leaves have fallen and subsequently been raked, and our week of 80 degree weather is going to abruptly end tomorrow when we hit a high/low of 45/28.
I. Can't. Wait. Bring on the December weather, Texas!

leopard & lulu

This sweet girl, Lulu, was my dog for many years, until my older sister moved out and my parents had Lulu go with her. She is such a sweetheart and I love her to pieces.
And sheesh, look at her...she's grown to be the same size as me! I was going to take some outfit photos, but we wound up just lovin' on each other instead.
The back of this tank is SO pretty, I wish I had gotten some photos of it! Perhaps another time.
In other news, it's Friday FINALLY and all I want to do is sleep. And sleep.
............and then sleep some more.
Hello, weekend.

floral jeans from the lingerie section

Just a quick little update from today! I missed a package I needed to sign for the other day, so I had to drive really far out of my way to go to a post office nowhere near me to pick it up (and why they couldn't leave it at the post office 10 seconds from my house is beyond me). Anyways, the post office was right behind Target, so I decided to go in and shop through the sale racks. As I was about to leave because I didn't find anything, I see this sale rack sitting hidden in the lingerie section. I walked over, and in the midst of bras and underwear is a sale rack of gray floral jeans. I don't exactly understand that marketing strategy, but I do understand how perfect these jeans are. I can't wait to wear them out (and I'll post photos when I do!).
