fall essentials (pt.1)

Although the weather and I aren't exactly in agreement, with the month of September comes autumn. And as I am an autumn baby (19 on Friday!), this is by far my favorite season. All year I look forward to the 2 weeks I can wander around in chunky knits and boots with a pumpkin spice and my hair will hold curls...ugh it's glorious. And even if I can't have that weather just yet, I find great comfort in knowing it's not too far off. Finally I'll be able to wake up without wanting to cry and walk out the door in a bikini (why isn't that socially acceptable in Texas yet? I feel like it should be). And I know you lucky northerners are already getting a taste of autumn (adopt me) so I thought I'd go ahead and get my fall posts rollin'!

I've been desperately trying to find time to get out & shoot outfit photos, but it's been difficult with working in the evenings, conflicting schedules with my sister/photog, and the weather! The past few days it has been pouring. Nonstop. And of course those would be the only days I could get out and shoot. Thankfully, when I got back from Dallas earlier, the sun was out, so I called my sister up and asked to go shoot.
30 minutes later there's lightning and thunder and a cloud as dark as night overhead. Just my luck.
But I thought, "It's not raining yet...might as well try and get a few shots while we can!" So we drove out and during this outfit it did start raining a bit...but thankfully I found a little spot with covering. Unfortunately, my sister didn't ;) ....she's the best!

I've never been a huge fan of Sunday's. I don't like the fact that school is looming over my head the entire day. But today? Today was perfect. I slept in 'til noon, and the first thing I did was roll over and check the weather app on my phone. 85 degrees.
I threw on a sundress, grabbed my book, lathered on some sunscreen, and headed outside to soak up the beautiful weather. I spent the better half of the afternoon just sitting and enjoying a perfect day.
Tomorrow it's going to be in the 90's, though, and I'm not entirely certain if I'm ready for such heat so early in the year....hashtag Texas probs.

I swear I'm going crazy with the weather going from 80 to 40 to 60 every single day. I never know when it's appropriate to put away all of my sweaters and winter coats, and I'm glad I haven't, because it got super cold and rainy for a few days this week. It's supposed to be sunny and warm again tomorrow, but today was very in-between, so I opted for a huge, cozy grandpa cardigan and drop-waist dress.
I spent the evening running around Hobby Lobby with my little sister grabbing supplies for "Craft Night." I ended up very happy with what I made, which I'll be posting about soon :')
