It's moderately terrifying realizing that in a mere few months I will be transitioning from the comfort and familiarity of high school to the completely unknown: college.
As much as I have been looking forward to this day for years (seriously), I'm still fairly nervous. I'm gaining endless amounts of responsibility and things are going to start changing rapidly.
As I was sitting in my newspaper class the other day, I started to fill out my application for the newspaper at the college I'm attending. It was sort of a harsh realization that I would soon be going from editor-in-chief to a lowly reporter. Which is fine...you have to start from the bottom, and I get that. But I'm definitely one to exert power so it's definitely going to be a challenge.
As I was filling out my application, I realized that I had the option to start over as a designer or a photographer, rather than a writer. I've always pursued writing in my journalistic endeavors, but it dawned on me that I don't want to be just a writer. I enjoy design. I enjoy photography.
I plan on working at a magazine, and magazine's aren't just writing. They're composed of so many other aspects, and I want to do it all.
Although I'll probably end up as a writer for the paper, I want to keep myself well-versed in design and photography as well.
So I started doing a bit of designing, and thought I'd share my little "magazine pages" I come up with on here, with you guys!

I was a writer for my college's newspaper too and then an editor. Really like the graphic you created. Don't worry about college. It's a thousand times better than high school.
